South Street, Philadelphia

How was your holiday weekend? Thanksgiving did me in and between the gluttony and it finally getting cold in LA, I’ve been in full-on hermit nesting mode this week. I’m stubbornly wearing all my Christmas themed clothing at once right now because it’s the only month I can and it’s not a good look. So let’s ease back into things, shall we? With Philly.

Philly was my favorite stop on that road trip I took with Heidi a while back and one day there left me completely smitten. It’s a city that’s easy to fall in love with and I was a sucker for it all: the coffee shops, old churches, cobblestone streets, and charming brick walk-ups. The place is steeped in history so rich it’s almost palpable and you never lose sense of that while exploring.

Walking past buildings and monuments that are hundreds of years old is something Philadelphians get to do every day but for me, someone who grew up in the west in track home suburbia, the experience was wonderfully novel.
